1ST HENLEY ON THAMES SCOUT GROUP NOTICE OF AN ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING TO BE HELD AT HARPSDEN VILLAGE HALL AT 15.45 ON SUNDAY 21st July 2019

Please note 1st Henley on Thames Scout Group is a registered charity and is holding this AGM in accordance with its constitution. All parents of young members of the group form part of the Group Council, along with other particular adults supporting the group, and can therefore vote at the AGM. This is an excellent opportunity to see how the group works, what it does with its money and who does what. If you are interested in finding out more, please come along.

Did you know?

The Group is managed by the Group Executive Committee, members of which are the ‘Charity Trustees’ of the Scout Group which is an educational charity. 

As charity trustees they are responsible for complying with legislation applicable to charities. This includes the registration, keeping proper accounts and making returns to the Charity Commission as appropriate. 

The Committee consists of Chair, Treasurer and Secretary together with the Group Scout Leader, Scout Leaders, Cub Leaders, Beaver Leader and meets regularly during the year.

This Group Executive Committee exists to support the Group Scout Leader in meeting the responsibilities of the appointments and is responsible for: the maintenance of Group property; assisting in the recruitment of leaders and other adult support; appointing any sub committees that may be required.

On behalf of the 113 children currently involved with 1st Henley Scout Group, we say a heartfelt thank you!!

Can you help?

We have a great team at 1st Henley and we would love you to join us.  It doesn’t matter if you can offer 5 hours a year or 5 hours a week – it all helps !! 

Would you like to be a leader?   Could you help on the committee? Fund raising? Admin Support?  Press Officer? Equipment Maintenance? Occasional Helper? Catering?  Hut Maintenance? Gardening? District & County Reps? Camp Logistics / Drivers? Activity Co-ordinators?  

It’s a good laugh being part of 1st Henley Scouts and we would love to have you on the team.
